Like a Horse and Carriage: Wedded Bliss

You know the song, "Love and marriage, love and marriage, they go together like a horse and carriage. . . ."  I know I don't have much experience to speak from, but so far, marriage feels natural.  I know that there are obstacles in our future, but right now it seems easy, and Chris and I love each other more every day (my apologies--I feel so corny typing that).  Every once in a while he says something that surprises me and shows me how well he really knows and understands me.  For example, a couple of weekends ago we vacationed with his family at Dauphin Island, and at one point, just the two of us were out on the beach.  I can't remember now what we were talking about, but it had something to do with work, and he said something like, "You won't be working at a law firm forever."  As you can imagine, I was a little surprised, and I asked him what he meant.  He said, "I just don't see you working at some law firm 60+ hours a week for the rest of your life.  You're a free spirit.  You'll write a book or find something else to do."  I smiled, and I felt my heart swell a little.  I might've even wiped a tear or two from behind my Wayfarers.  I think he sometimes worries that he doesn't show me he loves me often enough, and though every girl loves a romantic gesture, it's unscripted moments like these that I feel the most loved.  I have some catching up to do.
